WITH SOME PATIENCE AND INPUT LEXI WILL BE A GREAT DOG!
When Lexi arrived at the Montreal SPCA at three months old, she was limping. After a veterinary exam it was discovered that she had a fracture on her hind leg. For the last 2+ months this full-of-beans girl has been on cage rest waiting for the fracture to heal and she has been very patient! Slowly but surely with a few weeks of rest and rehab, Lexi will be a normal puppy.
Lexi, probably a mix of Lab and Border Collie, is a very happy dog! She currently lives with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and they tolerate her goofy, clumsy sometimes rough, play style. When out of her crate, Lexi follows her humans everywhere, and stays real close. Lexi loves sticks—big ones, and prances around with them in her mouth or chews on them in her crate. Her crate has been her home for many weeks and she is happy in it, door opened or closed. She has learned some basic commands and is very treat motivated and eager to learn. She will need further training as she is still mouthing, and jumping up to bite her leash on walks. Lexi will benefit greatly from obedience classes.
We are asking for a calm family with kids 12+, in a house with a securely fenced yard. She is currently 6 months old, is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Lexi will be approximately 50+ lbs. when fully grown. She is almost housetrained, but will be when she has the freedom out of her crate to ask for the door.
