Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Gerdy’s Rescues and Adoptions!

Adopting a dog or cat from Gerdy’s Rescues and Adoptions (Gerdy’s) is a multi-step process:

  1. Complete our application form.
  2. If you are one of the candidates selected, a Gerdy’s representative will do a home visit to meet all adults, children and pets living in the home to ensure that the home is an appropriate environment for the pet in question.
  3. Meet and greet with the dog or cat you are applying for, at your home. All people living in the home must be present as well as all pets.
  4. If approved to adopt, you start a trial adoption and will sign our our adoption trial contract and begin a two-week trial period to ensure that the animal is the right match for your household.

To begin the application process, please read and answer all the questions below. We accept multiple applications for each animal, so please be aware that you may not be the only applicant. Our adoptions are never “first come, first served”, rather, we are looking for the best match that suits both the individual animal and the applicant’s needs.

We are only able to contact selected applicants. If selected, you should receive a phone call or an email response (please check your spam box in case our emails are filtered out).

Please refer to our website to read about our adoption process.
