Fostering a dog or cat from a local rescue or shelter is a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
OPEN YOUR HEART BY OPENING YOUR DOOR.
You can make a world of difference in the life of a neglected or abandoned dog or cat. Fostering is step one and one of the most important and rewarding aspects of animal rescue. While waiting for a forever home, our animals get the benefit of a home environment.
The process is simple: Contact us (see contact form) and we will respond by email with a questionnaire that will assist us in determining the kind of foster animal appropriate for your home. Together we will find a perfect match.
Please be prepared to keep an animal in foster anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. Some animals needing foster require rest in a quiet environment after surgery, some need leash training, some need an urgent placement when pulled from a pound. Gerdy’s will supply food and any necessary vet care needed during the foster period.
Your feedback is the invaluable info that we need to be able to place your foster pet in the best possible forever home. You will make a tremendous impact, add value and enrich each animal’s life. It’s a very rewarding experience!
