It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear Oreo last week. Oreo was a 12-yr-old Border Collie/Springer Spaniel mix….but more importantly he was my best buddy and an amazing companion for the last 12 years. Still in amazing shape, Oreo would play fetch every night and we would walk him. Unfortunately he succumbed to an internal bleeding hemorrhage. We tried to operate but another issue came up the month after.
He was known by Gerdy by the name of SAINT, having been through so much prior to us adopting him.
Ironically enough, today I found this picture by pure luck. We adopted Oreo in January and this article with Gerdy has a picture of him prior to our adoption back in the Gerdy’s News Letter in the 2010 winter. It’s almost haunting to even see him!!
Please note he was loved and adored like a king over the years and had a tremendous loving life. He also had 3 cat companions and a small schnauzer that was there before he joined our family.
It’s almost surreal to be writing about his departure… boy I cared a lot for him.
