To Gerdy, My dear friend It is with a shattered heart I am letting you know Sid passed away. After a lengthy fight to a degenerative hips condition, Sid couldn’t get up or walk anymore. This morning he closed his eyes peacefully at the vetenarian, cuddled by my side. We lost a companion, a friend but those we LOVE don’t go away, they WALK BESIDE US every day. In the forest, I will continue caling his name as he will always be in my heart or behind a tree. If you remember I first met Sid late December 2014 at Bark’s, the big boy had been transferred from rescue to rescue, apparently having some behavior issues, he couldn’t be adopted so once more you and team stepped up, found a solution. From this first ride to the last one Sid had been to me a gem and a Joy. He was afterall only a big goofy boy. I am also expressing my gratitude to Claire Dupuis putting in the initial call, tears in her voice, asking my consent to take charge, and Marilyn Gelfand’s involvement facilitating that first meeting and continued support. I am grateful to all of you, working relentlessly, having made the huge difference, not only in Sid’s life but in mine. Once again, Thank you my friend and farewell, For Sid, RIP
