HEY DACHSHUND LOVERS!
Hi am Chloe, an adorable senior wire-haired Dachshund. At 12 years old, I still have miles left in me to make you smile. Albeit my physical bursts of energy only last a few minutes a few times a day, I can still zoom with the best of them, toss around a plush toy and trot on my walks.
I know some basic tricks, my parents preferred to make a fuss over me and not strain by brain by insisting that I have a repertoire of commands. My best trick is demanding treats many times a day and oh ya, I am somewhat of a retriever…well sort of. I don’t love the home alone thing but I can tolerate a few hours providing that you leave chewies and things to keep me busy.
My humans have aged and they themselves have to be rehomed too, sad for all of us but I am super confident that one look at my photos and you will be “swiping right” to set up a meet and greet. It really is like online dating.
And let’s talk about the white elephant in every Dachshund’s room—the long back! My back is in great shape, after a little hiccup 5+ years ago I avoid leaping off beds and sofas and have learned to stop jumping up like a circus act on my hind legs. Also, stairs are never good for my breed, so a few stairs are OK and a baby gate here and there would work.
My teeth are in good shape, my parents took care of that recently. I am housetrained, spayed, vaccinated and in pretty great health. I weigh 25 lbs. (could probably lose a few).
So, to sum it up here’s what I need:- a house with few or no stairs-no apts. or condos cause if I am alone too long I can be vocal-selective with dogs and could probably live with a chill older one-no history with cats-kids 16+ (to avoid too much handling and rough playing).
