For the last 2+ months this full-of-beans girl has been on cage rest in a foster home waiting for a fracture in her leg to heal. She has been very patient! With rest and rehab Lexi is now ready to go to her forever home.
Lexi, probably a mix of Lab and Border Collie, is a very happy dog! She currently lives with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and they tolerate her goofy, clumsy sometimes rough, play style. When out of her crate, Lexi follows her humans everywhere, and stays real close. Lexi loves sticks—big ones, and prances around with them in her mouth or chews on them in her crate. As her crate had been her home for many weeks during her recuperation, she is happy in it, door opened or closed. She has learned some basic commands and is very treat motivated and eager to learn. She still has some puppy stuff to be worked on and Lexi will benefit greatly from obedience classes.
We are asking for a calm, experienced family with kids 12+, in a house with a securely fenced yard. Since she is still a puppy, the adopters should have flexible work schedules. She is currently 6 months old, is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Lexi will be approximately 50+ lbs. when fully grown. Now that she has the freedom out of her crate to ask for the door, she is pretty well housetrained.
