AFTER A FEW MONTHS IN FOSTER, NALI IS A DREAM DOG!
NALI is a Swiss Shepherd, a working breed who is active and energetic and loves to be kept busy, stimulated and exercised. His beginning was tough on him, not for a lack of love and caring but Nali was just in the wrong place. Since placed in a foster family a few months ago with Gerdy’s, and now almost a year old he has progressed to be a wonderful companion pet.
Nali understands basic commands as well as more advanced commands like bark, centered walk, backup, catch, etc. He is starting to do agility jumps and focused healing and has already enjoyed his first lake swims. He does very well with kids and adults, and is playful and likes interacting with other dogs. If the right match, he can live with another dog.
Nali is super intelligent and highly motivated. An active family with knowledge and experience with working dogs (think Shepherds, Huskies, Collies, etc.) is preferred. Nali loves his long daily walks full of physical and mental stimulation. His life is loaded with a variety of enrichment, slow feeders, frozen kongs and search and find games and his favorite: fetch! Denali is a joy to train and work with and at any time of day, he just loves to cuddle!
His luxurious, dense double coat allows him to brave even the coldest winter days. A rural or suburban home with a variety of walking routes or trails would be ideal.
Nali’s prey drive is emerging; he is chasing squirrels, geese and small birds. His foster is working hard on this. He is not an off-leash dog.
Nali is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and weighs approx. 60 lbs.
Strict requirements:
-an adult household in a quiet rural or suburban neighbourhood
-experience with large breed dogs; no cats
– a securely fenced yard (minimum 6 feet). if a pool it must be fenced separately
– you love to walk, hike, exercise, and are looking for a loyal companion to explore the great outdoors
-you have time and are patient and would love to continue the training process
