TENNY TINY, BUT LEO IS FEISTY
Leo, part of the clan of 13, seized recently from a backyard breeder, was somehow saved from the same fears as his litter and pack mates. This tiny guy (5 lbs.) ran amuck on a country property for his first 5 months but somehow stayed out of harm’s way.
He warmed up to our volunteers pretty quickly and allows himself to be scooped up and hugged. He is definitely fearful when introduced to new people and things but with an adequate supply of liver treats, he comes around. He loves his gang but we are certain that he can be separated from them, especially if there is another small, playful dog in the home.
Leo will be a flight risk in the beginning as he has been a little escape artist but once bonded to his new humans and animals will probably want to stay close. A real puppy, he is a chewer and will need a supply of healthy chew toys, where he comes from everything was fair game—wood, plants, paper, garbage…
Leo is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
FIRM REQUIREMENTS: Experienced tiny dogs. No condos or apartments, children 15+, a securely fenced yard, swimming pools only if fenced separately, someone home a good part of the day. Leo must be adopted together with another dog from his pack or with another small dog in the home. A cat OK if used to dogs.
