LITTLE TIA LOVES TO HIDE HER CHEW TOYS
This 6-month-old Yorkie is 6 ½ lbs. of cuteness. Shy at first, she is getting better and better every day in her foster home. She loves her two foster siblings and is even settling in nicely with the cats. Having lived outdoors in the country with the pack of 13, she was deprived of socialization with humans. More importantly deprived of stimulation, many became chewers—of wood and plants and garbage… Tia adores her new toys especially her chewy toys which she hides under cushions or furniture and pulls out when the mood strikes her.
She is slowly learning to live away from the pack and is learning to depend on her patient foster Mom and her Yorkies. She has started using the pee pad most of the time and already has had a few pees in the back yard while on a harness and leash. Baby steps! Like her mates she is a bit of a barker but will stop if you say “enough”.
Harbouring many of the characteristics of a puppy mill dog, Tia could be a flight risk and needs an experienced (with fearful dogs) and patient family who will allow her the time it will take to become more confident.
Tia is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
FIRM REQUIREMENTS: Experience with timid dogs. No condos or apartments, children 16+, a securely fenced yard, swimming pools only if fenced separately, someone home a good part of the day. Tia must be adopted together with another dog from her pack or with another small dog or more in the home. A cat OK if used to dogs.
