SLOANE HAS COME A LONG WAY.
When Sloane’s senior owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the daily routine and rituals they shared were suddenly halted, her world fell apart. She was dropped off at an overcrowded pound where she became super stressed and she had a total shut down.
Gerdy’s responded to the urgent call to get her to a safe, quiet environment.
Only two weeks later in foster care with patient, experienced, and loving people, this little warrior’s true self is coming to the surface. From the pup that couldn’t be approached and was protective and fearful, she now is happy; running, playing endless fetch, hanging out with dogs big and small and slowly warming up to strangers. The key ingredient to continued success with Sloane is her consent, she is great at communicating her discomfort –her body language tells it all.
Although she didn’t get out much in her past life she is starting to enjoy her walks. Sloane will benefit having her food given interactively or in training e.g. Interactive bowls and other dog toys that will provide mental stimulation. Sloane can be a Velcro dog, but also craves alone time. She is ready for her life’s next chapter, the trust may not be instant, but we are certain that she will once again be an amazing companion.
Sloane is 3 years old, weighs about 14 lbs. (she could lose a few) and is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.. She is housetrained, likes her playpen. Is not unnecessarily vocal. Can be left alone for a few hours.
