AT ONLY ONE YEAR OLD, TIMMY JUST GOT A NEW LEASE ON LIFE.
Found lost on the street, Tim was picked up by a kind volunteer from a rescue group that was unable to locate his owner and then Gerdy’s was contacted. Lucky for him because a full vet exam showed him to have a severe heart murmur and after consultation with a cardiologist we learned that Timmy’s congenital heart disease needed urgent heart surgery.
The operation was a great success and almost 2 months later he is a new man ready for his forever home. He is full of beans, loves his walks and especially meeting people on the street. A real social butterfly!
Although affectionate, he is not a cuddler and will need some work getting used to the human touch as he has some sensitive spots that he can be protective about. He is not much of a barker…so far. He is a thief and likes to steal toys, laundry and food and run away with it or even hide with it in an open cupboard. He will usually forfeit these stolen goods, by distracting him with treats or showing him his walking leash. He gets along well with other dogs as long as they don’t take his “stuff”.
He needs a family experienced with small breeds with mild behavioral issues. Overall Tim is a real charmer and will be adored by whoever adopts him. His perfect match would be an adult family (or with kids 14+ if very experienced with dogs) in a house — no apartments, duplexes or condos. Timmy can live with another dog who is confident and can serve as his mentor. He is neutered, vaccinated, and up to date on his vaccines. He weighs just under 10 lbs. and just had his first birthday.
