URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR A SPECIAL MEDICAL CASE!
Wonderful Toby needs your help. Toby was hit by a car and had to have one of his back legs amputated. The surgery was such a success that he was up and running in no time, it was like he never noticed a limb was missing!
Unfortunately, a routine blood test indicated positive results for heartworm with heartworms in both the heart and the bloodstream. The treatment for this condition is long and intense and Toby has soldiered through the protocols so far, like a champ. There is still a long road ahead and sadly the current fosters are leaving the country and can no longer care for him.
Toby requires a quiet adult environment with easy access (little or no stairs) to the outdoors, as the treatment dictates restricted activity and tranquility for a few months. Toby is housetrained and will ask for the door. He will need to be kept on a short leash and outings are only for hygienic needs. A house with bedrooms on the main floor is mandatory as Toby likes to sleep near his humans and during treatment is forbidden to climb stairs. Toby cannot be left alone and the person or family must work from home or have a very flexible schedule to be home with Toby for medication, feeding, and supervision.
Toby is a sweet soul, loving and affectionate and a joy to have around. He loves everyone he meets, dogs and cats included. This is not an easy request but the rewards of knowing and caring for Toby are great.
